NEW SEA-DOO PWC
T3
HULL
|
 |
|
Lake
Havasu City, AZ, October 21, 2011
–
BRP
Sea-Doo personal watercraft racer, James Bushell claimed two of
the most prestigious World Championship titles in all of
personal watercraft (PWC) racing winning both the Pro Open and
Pro GP classes at the recent IJSBA World Finals.
Bushell’s Sea-Doo Centre backed
RXP-X* featuring the all new T3 hull design
outclassed fields filled with the biggest names in the sport to
collect his double championship. The combination of the Sea-Doo
T3 hull, Australia tuner/builder Les Cooke’s
abilities to bring the new Sea-Doo RXP-X innovations to the
racetrack and Bushell’s skill left no question to onlookers
which watercraft was the most dominant on the water and what was
in store for the future from
Sea-Doo RXP-X watercraft racers.
“James and Les’ efforts showed the
world that BRP’s innovations on the new Sea-Doo RXP-X work
better than any other design on the race,” said Yves Leduc, vice
president – general manager, North America division. “BRP is
extremely proud of James Bushell’s double world championship
winning performance on the new Sea-Doo T3 hull.”
Bushell, co-owner of the BRP
dealership 158 Performance in Stamford of the UK, claimed
both Pro Open and Pro GP World titles aboard his Sea-Doo
watercraft featuring the new T3 hull design that
stands for tight,-turning, T-hull and offers true lean-in
handling and tracks straighter in choppy conditions. Riders
benefit from this design as they can utilize the power more
efficiently in all areas of high performance riding minimizing
fatigue, cornering faster and seemingly shortening the racetrack
compared to the competition.
"This was the first race for the new Sea-Doo RXP-X
T3 hull design and it claimed the world’s most
prestigious championship. This clearly shows that BRP continues
with the Sea-Doo brands to offer
trend-setting products that set us
apart from our competitors",
said Chris Dawson,
vice-president and general manager of the International
division. "The T3
Hull design is an example on how BRP always strives to push the
limit and confirms that innovation is part of our DNA.
The new 2012 Sea-Doo RXP-X
watercraft will be available starting in January of 2012. For a

Lake Havasu City Convention & Visitors Bureau approves Special
funding for 29th quakysense IJSBA World Finals - Personal
Watercraft racers from around the world returning to Crazy Horse
RV Resort & Campground.
By: staff (Mon, Aug/23/2010)
|
 |
|
Following a recent unanimous vote of approval
from its board of directors, the Lake Havasu City Convention and
Visitors Bureau has allocated special funding for the second
straight year to help market and promote this year’s 29th Annual
quakysense International Jet Sports Boating Association (IJSBA)
Jet Ski World Finals. Featuring the best personal watercraft
racers from around the world, the 2010 quakysense IJSBA World
Finals will be held on Lake Havasu on Oct. 3-10.
Returning to Lake Havasu for the 29th consecutive year, several
hundred Jet Ski entries from across the U.S. and over 30 nations
annually converge on Lake Havasu along with news media from a
dozen countries to participate in and cover this world-renown
special event.
“The IJSBA World Finals and Lake Havasu City have been bonded
together for nearly three decades and the Lake Havasu City
Convention and Visitors Bureau is very excited to once again
partner with the IJSBA to enhance the visibility and quality of
this event even more,” said Doug Traub, the new President/CEO of
the LHCCVB. “The economic impact of this event for Lake Havasu
City over these many years is astronomical and we are poised to
assist with marketing and promoting this event to gain an even
wider reach than it already does. We anticipated last year that
our new involvement with the event would springboard into a
continuing supporting partnership in the years ahead and it has
for at least 2010. The IJSBA World Finals has been in our area
longer and provides more visibility internationally for us than
any other event ever held here.”
Sanctioned under rules of the IJSBA, with world headquarters in
Half Moon Bay, Calif. and produced in association with Jim
Russell’s DSM Events of Lake Havasu City, the quakysense IJSBA
World Finals of personal watercraft Jet Ski racing is one of the
world's most unique and spectacular sporting championships.
Returning to Lake Havasu for the 29th consecutive year, the
massive Jet Ski racing extravaganza will be held in the shadow
of the original London Bridge on the offshoot waters of the
Colorado River.
“It has always been a natural fit for the IJSBA to work in
partnership to promote this event with the Lake Havasu City
Convention and Visitors Bureau and it’s great that they are
joining with us again to help expand the exposure of this
world-wide event even further,” said Scott Frazier, Managing
Director of the IJSBA. “We look forward to continuing to build
this relationship for the enhancement of both the event and Lake
Havasu City tourism in general.”
The Jet Ski race site for the 12th consecutive year will be at
the purpose-built Aqua Stadium on the grounds of the Crazy Horse
RV Resort and Campgrounds in the popular Arizona water resort of
Lake Havasu City.
A veritable salute to personal watercraft and the youthful
lifestyle it represents, the industry's biggest week will
include several distinct championship events. Starting the week
will be the 2010 IJSBA Novice National Finals and Masters World
Finals (Oct. 3-5), followed by the 2010 IJSBA Expert and Amateur
World Finals (Oct. 6-7) and concluding with the featured 2009
IJSBA Pro and Pro-Am World Finals (Oct. 8-10).
Freestyle athletes will compete in the IJSBA Amateur Freestyle
World Finals on Friday, Oct. 8 and the IJSBA Pro Freestyle World
Finals with qualifying on Saturday, Oct. 9 and finals on Sunday,
Oct. 10. The event offers free admission to the main stadium
area Performance Alley-the World’s largest PWC Jet Ski Trade
Show, which features more than 40 individual vendors of the
leading performance companies for watercraft, side by side and
other power sports. Original Equipment Manufacturers will unveil
their 2011 models. Monster Energy Drink will be on site once
again with product sampling and the latest apparel and
accessories will be displayed from major industries.

while the official website of the Lake Havasu City Convention
and Visitors Bureau is www.golakehavasu.com. |

Hartwell, Georgia- What a great
race and event, our Jettribe rig pulled in on Thursday and the
race sight was buzzing with activity and energy. Very similar to
the World Finals at Lake Havasu kind of feeling. This was one of
the best events we have seen yet; the locals turned out in
record numbers and local food vendors were not in any short
supply at all. We loved feasting on Sue's baby back ribs; this
might be the best food on earth, hands down. Just ask Ronny Mac,
he had his share of ribs all weekend. |
|
Some of the small touches that
really set off AJ's events are the hospitality. On Friday after
a long drive to Georgia, we were treated to some back yard style
barbeque which was a nice touch. And throughout the entire
weekend our Jettirbe crew was pretty busy managing our busy
booth, so AJ was kind enough to constantly drop off burgers for
us. The racers’ party hosted by (Watercrafters) on Saturday
night was very nice ...it gave us and the racers a chance just
to be ourselves and hang out. As an added bonus, we signed (Watercrafters)
as our new dealer for the Jettribe in Hartwell. |
 |
|
 |
We would like to congratulate our
team riders that raced over the weekend. Josh Block took 1st
place in Novice Ski Stock and Amateur Ski Open, Bill Haig
finished 4th in Pro-Am Ski GP, Jimmy Wilson finished 9th in
Pro-Am Ski GP, Mike Bartolomeo finished 5th in Amateur Ski Open,
Jeremy Schandelmayer finished 2nd in his Pro-Am Open Runabout
class and 1st in Expert Runabout Limited, Derek Correll finished
1st in Amateur Runabout N/A Limited, Christine Milone took 4th
in her Novice Limited Runabout class, and Laura Milone finished
3rd in her Novice Women’s Ski Limited class. |
|
We would like to thank AJ of the
IJSBA and his crew for putting on another great event, and we
would also like to thank the town of Hartwell for hosting this
event for us, it was such a blast! And we want to wish a speedy
recovery to David who broke his leg over the weekend.

Professional PWC Racer Eric Lagopoulos Attempts to Break Three World
Records on Thursday, November 12, 2009 with Effort Helping the Boomer
Esiason Foundation in Project Dream. |
|
Melbourne, FL – November 11, 2009 Eric Lagopoulos will be
testing his physical and mental being this Thursday, November 12
by attempting to ride over 1000 miles in 24-hours on a Sea-Doo
watercraft. November 12 is Guinness Book Of World Records day
and Lagopoulos, will be attempting to break the records for most
miles ridden on a PWC in 24 hours, most in six hours, and
quickest time to 1000 kilometers by doing multiple laps on the
10-mile long, 200-foot wide C-54 canal in South Brevard County.
Lagopoulos will be riding for a cause in Project Dream as
he will be raising money for the Boomer Esiason Foundation with
every mile he completes, helping the families with children that
suffer from cystic fibrosis. |
|
Lagopoulos is a veteran professional PWC racer and model from
Long Boat Key, FL and is fresh off capturing the APBA HydroDrag
Vintage National Championship at this same venue the weekend
prior and will be attempting to complete over 50 laps on the
20-mile loop. The Project Dream base will be at the C-54 Canal
launch ramp facility where Lagopoulos will have a support team
for refueling, providing meals, and moral support. Lagopoulos
will have to fight fatigue, both physical and mental, to
accomplish the feat.
“What I will go through to break these three world records is
nothing compared to what the kids with Cystic Fibrosis go
through every day,” said Lagopoulos. “The Boomer Esiason
Foundation does incredible work to help these families cope with
these challenges every day. I will do my best to help the cause
and the cause will help keep me focused on the goal. Now I need
the help of the watercraft community to make the true difference
by supporting the effort with donations.” |
 |
Lagopoulos will begin his attempt in the early morning hours aboard a
Sea-Doo RXT iS watercraft and he hopes he can avoid the unexpected to
stay on track to break the records. “Anything can happen out there going
65 mph for that long,” noted Lagopoulos. “There are alligators, snakes,
logs, big flying bugs, all kinds of stuff to deal with, but it is a good
venue for this and we welcome people from Central Florida to come and
watch, support us, and make a donation. It is a good time to help (with
a donation), leading into the holidays. And beyond the obvious of
helping the kids, the donations are tax deductible!”

TAKES RIVA RACING HYDRODRAG UNLIMITED WIN IN FALL NATIONAL WITH PARR
TAKING TOP SPOT IN FISHBOWL FREESTYLE |
|
Melbourne, FL – November 9, 2009 –
The RIVA Racing HydroDrag Fall National took place in blustery
conditions and saw Duke Zorn blow away his competition in the
HydroUnlimited final. Zorn joined Stan Hightower, Troy Snyder, and Eric
Lagopoulos as winners of the Fall National PWC drag race event while
Jeremy Parr took the top spot in the first FishBowl Freestyle National.
The weekend events drew competitors and fans from all over the eastern
seaboard and saw intense action with multiple photo finishes in the
HydroDrags and A+ showmanship in the FishBowl Freestyle contest.
The C-54
canal located on Central Florida’s East Coast was host to the final
HydroDrag event of the 2009 series, chosen for its unique layout
normally providing ideal conditions for peak speeds but this weekend
faced 15-25 mph winds producing small white caps at times in the
200-foot wide canal. Speed Alley top speed competition was conducted
from East-to-West, with the wind but the chop negated any advantages the
riders might have picked up with less wind resistance. Local Space Coast
rider, Duke Zorn of nearby Titusville, FL posted the fastest top speed
of the weekend on his conversion PWC with a peak speed of 88.1 mph.
Zorn also
took the top spot in the premier HydroUnlimited drag races, battling
through the double elimination heat races beating Stan Hightower down
the 1/8th mile track and collecting the $500 first place
prize money. Hightower pocketed $300 for the runner-up spot and Jonathan
Nieves took the third spot and $200. Hightower on his Sea-Doo RXP-X
would be the weekends most decorated racer winning the HydroLimited
class title bettering Orlando’s Dustin Charrier and taking the runner up
spot in the HydroStock class.
Veteran
closed course racer Troy Snyder of Bradenton, FL on his Neptune racing
built Sea-Doo RXP-X gave drag racing a try and came away the Fall

Naples, FL, USA
– October 30, 2009 – Mike Pagliccia of
Naples, Florida became the latest marine adventurer to set a World
Record for distance on a personal watercraft by riding his Sea-Doo
watercraft 753-miles (1,211 km) in 24-hours to set the new open-water
mark. Pagliccia follows his 2008 attempt on a Sea-Doo GTI watercraft
(624-miles/1004 km) with both efforts raising money for the American
Cancer Society. Pagliccia follows Dale Vranckx who set the flat-water
distance record in 24-hours at 786-miles (1,265 km) aboard Sea-Doo
watercraft in July 2009, and proceeds Eric Lagopoulos in his attempt to
break three World Records aboard a iCONTROL equipped Sea-Doo RXT iS
watercraft on November 12th.
Pagliccia surpassed
the current world record of 714-miles, set by Brett Kettle of Australia,
for the longest distance traveled on a personal watercraft in open water
within a twenty-four hour period by reaching 753-miles. Pagliccia began
his attempt from Wiggins Pass in Naples, FL and negotiated a 30-mile
track between Naples and Sanibel Island, FL, with the attempt continuing
into the night with a special executive order from the Florida Wildlife
Commission allowing him to ride his PWC at night on a controlled
three-mile loop North of the Naples Pier.
Pagliccia credits his
success on the four months of physical training he did prior to the
event and having a machine that could withstand the 24-hour ride in
rough water. "The Sea-Doo GTX handled the rough water extremely well and
with the speed that the watercraft offered, I was able to make up time
as soon as the sun started to rise."
Pagliccia raised over
$3000.00 for the American Cancer Society during the promotion of the
event by selling T-Shirts and through local business sponsorships.
Pagliccia stated, "This ride was dedicated to my Mother-In-Law, Freda
Slattery who died of cancer on March 7, 2009 and is in tribute to those
that continue to battle this terrible disease.”
On the heels of
Pagliccia’s accomplishment, professional watercraft racer Eric
Lagopoulos is planning to break three world records on November 12,
2009; Guinness Book of World Records Day. Lagopoulos has teamed with the
legendary Pro Football quarterback Boomer Esiason and the Boomer Esiason
Foundation for “Project Dream” to raise money for the research and
treatment of children afflicted with Cystic Fibrosis. Lagopoulos is
planning on breaking the records for most miles in a six-hour time
frame, fastest time to 1000 km (625 miles), and most distance on flat
water in a 24-hour period.
Lagopoulos plans on
achieving his goals piloting a Action Watercraft (Venice, FL) backed
Sea-Doo RXT iS watercraft around a 22-mile loop on the C-54 Canal south
of Palm Bay, FL. The C-54 waterway offers ideal conditions for such an
attempt yet Lagopoulos will have to overcome fatigue, Florida wildlife,
and count on the dependability of his Sea-Doo watercraft to reach his
goals. His biggest goal is to break the 1000-mile mark in the 24-hour
time frame.
Lagopoulos is looking
for supporters and donors to ensure his cause is a success. “The Boomer
Esiason Foundation helps families with children suffering from Cystic
Fibrosis get through their days.” Lagopoulos said. “We take for granted
doing normal things like riding a Sea-Doo watercraft for fun, so I am
asking for people to contribute fifty-cents, a dime, a penny, anything
to every mile I complete so these families can go into the holidays with
a little something extra. Help me give them the good life and ensure it
gets better.”

him through

Valcourt,
QC, CANADA – May 5, 2009
BRP
has
upgraded the company’s award winning Sea‑Doo website,
www.sea-doo.com,
with a collection of short videos to educate and entertain visitors. The
Sea-Doo video library includes technological overviews of the new
iCONTROL system, watercraft model performance comparisons, Direct-Drive
jet propulsion advantage of Sea-Doo Sport Boats, and WAKE how-to videos.
The videos can be found on the product pages in the showroom section at
www.sea-doo.com.
The product comparison videos include a musclecraft shootout pitting the
Sea-Doo RXP, RXP‑X, and RXT-X models against the industry’s closest
competitors in a variety of performance evaluations monitored by the
independent Florida Institute of Technology and Fun Jet Magazine. Three
IJSBA Hall of Fame racers push each model to their maximum capabilities
to clearly show which watercraft is the best of the musclecraft offers.
This video shootout clearly puts the claims to rest in regard to which
watercraft truly offers the best acceleration, handling, and fuel
economy.
The second comparison video showcases the top selling models in the
recreational segment, including the Sea-Doo GTI SE watercraft,
performing a variety of typical boating activities. Two couples
demonstrate the differences between the two watercraft to see which
model offers the most value, convenience, durability, and performance.
The Sea-Doo WAKE DO IT Trick Tip videos feature the Nike 6.0 wakeskate
pro team riders Nick Taylor, Ben Horan, and Matt Manzari riding behind
the new Sea-Doo WAKE 155 and WAKE PRO watercraft. Each rider shows how
they pull off some of their favorite tricks and how the tow sport
specific features on the WAKE models help them make it look easy. They
also share their thoughts on why the WAKE model watercraft are perfect
for families looking to get the most out of their budgets and time on
the water.
The “USCG Award” video shows United States Coast Guard Chief Officer,
Captain Mark Rizzo presenting BRP with the agency’s prestigious Safe
Boating Recognition for the revolutionary iBR (intelligent Brake and
Reverse) system and explains the safety benefits of the system. This
video compliments the various iCONTROL systems videos that explain the
iTC, iS, iBR, and S3 systems. The videos are elaborately
detailed yet simple to understand, as the iCONTROL videos show how each
new technology helps make riding a watercraft easier and more fun than
ever imagined. The new Sea-Doo GTX Limited iS and RXT iS 255 come
equipped with iCONTROL, the most advanced technologies ever introduced
on a recreational vessel.
The Sea-Doo website,
www.sea-doo.com,
also has several new features and upgrades. The “Dealer Locator” tool
allows consumers to input their address and instantly find the closest
authorized Sea-Doo dealers. Through this section consumers can also
utilize the “Get-a-Quote” tool to find the best value for their needs.
In the News & Events section, enthusiasts can see all that is new with
Sea-Doo by signing up for the new and improved Sea-Doo newsletter.
Visitors can also add their own event in the “Add an Event” section.
The Sea-Doo video library is the latest tool from BRP to help consumers
make the best possible purchasing decision to fulfill their watersports
needs. There is no better time to buy a new Sea‑Doo watercraft or sport
boat with strong manufacturer incentives and BRP dealers offering very
attractive value packages. Visit
www.sea-doo.com
for more details on current incentive offers and see why the “Good Life
Just Got Better”.

Watercraft World magazine is one of the industry's
leading personal watercraft publications. It annually chooses the
watercraft that best defines new standards in three major categories:
innovation, long-term impact and market appeal. The Watercraft World
editorial staff chose the revolutionary Sea-Doo GTX Limited iS model,
featuring iCONTROL technology, for re-defining the personal watercraft
industry in all three categories.
Watercraft World magazine editors noted that BRP's
2009 Sea-Doo GTX Limited iS watercraft is a “model that will drive
change…not to mention change the way we drive. A model that strives to
be not unique, but unique in a practical manner that enthusiasts can
appreciate.”
They also explained that the intelligent
suspension, award-winning braking system, and ability to start in
neutral at the dock, to little touches like a hinged seat and a gauge
display that pivots in unison with the tilting handlebars: “All combine
to literally shove, not just push, the pace of innovation. All will have
a certain degree of market appeal. And all will certainly have long
lasting effects on the personal watercraft industry.”
“The 2009 Sea-Doo GTX Limited iS watercraft will
change the way people enjoy the water by offering them more control than
ever,” said Roch Lambert, vice-president – general manager, North
